Description

We are Edelson Foord Law, an Ottawa criminal defence firm. Our lawyers practise primarily in Ottawa and the greater Eastern Ontario area and offer discreet representation throughout the province. We have acted in some of the most high-profile cases in Ontario, and we believe everyone is entitled to a vigorous defence.

Impaired driving defence in Ottawa

If you are charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, over 80, refusing a breath sample, dangerous driving or another driving-related offence, you may not know right away what your defence is. That is normal: defending DUI charges is highly technical and demands careful scrutiny of the police work at every stage of the investigation.

We look at the legal, technical and constitutional defences that may be open to you, and we explore every option: a withdrawal of the charge, a reduction to a Highway Traffic Act offence, or a trial. Do not plead guilty to an impaired charge before a lawyer has reviewed your case in full.
