Description

Santarossa Law is the criminal defence practice of Julie Santarossa in downtown Windsor. Julie has more than 15 years of experience defending clients across Ontario, at trial and on appeal, and she gives each case personal care and detailed attention.

Impaired driving and exceeding the legal limit

Julie defends people charged with impaired driving and exceeding the legal limit (over 80), as well as related refusal charges. An impaired driving case can turn on the details: the reason for the stop, the grounds for the breath demand, how quickly you were given access to a lawyer and whether the breath tests followed the rules. Julie reviews the disclosure closely and explains the options before you make any decision about your case.

Trial and appeal experience

Julie has conducted many trials in the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice and has argued complex criminal appeals before the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

  • Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, University of Windsor
  • Juris Doctor, University of Windsor, Faculty of Law; called to the Ontario Bar in 2008
  • Criminal defence lawyer at Ducharme Fox LLP, Windsor (2008 to 2011)
  • Criminal defence lawyer at Lockyer Campbell Posner, Toronto (2011 to 2012)
  • Santarossa Law, lead litigator (2012 to present)

Other areas of practice

Julie also defends drug possession, trafficking and importation charges, assault and sexual assault charges, and regulatory offences.
